GREETER – This important role is the first point of contact with worshippers as they arrive. The role would suit friendly outgoing people who would enjoy welcoming and engaging with people as they arrive for worship. It includes greeting people & asking COVID questions. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 hour)
CHECK-IN PERSON – This role involves checking-in each worshipper as they enter the foyer, using a mobile device (tablet, mobile phone or laptop). This role is essential for our Church to undertake under current COVID rules, and will be required for the foreseeable future. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 hour)
HELP DESK PERSON – This important role involves connecting with new and existing members who need help by answering their questions and providing information about BRUC groups and activities. The person will provide welcome packs to new people, helping them feel at home and receiving their completed Welcome Cards, as well as registering people who arrive at church without a booking. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 hour)
USHER – This role assists people with finding their allocated seats in the Auditorium prior to the Service. (Approx. Time Commitment – 45mins)
COMMUNION SERVER – This role involves the preparation, serving and clean-up of the Communion Elements. (Approx. Time Commitment – 30mins – 1 hour)
MUSIC TEAM – The Music Team is a dedicated group of musicians who have a passion for music ministry. Members are typically singers and/or instrumentalists, and some administrative tasks are shared by the leaders and members. Live services are currently on Sundays at 9:30am. The rehearsal is ususally on the previous Thursday at 7pm til approx. 8.30pm. Also warm up/preparation prior to the service, so the team is required to arrive 1 hour early before the Sunday service. We have a library of recorded songs to use if COVID or other event prevents us from attending a service. We will continue to build on this library as necessary. Recording sessions have been during the Thursday rehearsal. Sunday morning worship services are being Live-streamed on YouTube. Keyboard players are also invited to play at our 5pm worship service.
WORSHIP LEADER – This important role is to ‘lead’ the congregation in Worship. It may take different forms depending on the service theme/time of year etc. The Worship Leader will typically provide the Welcome, Prayers, Notices and bridges to songs. The Worship Leader helps worshippers connect with God. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 ½ hours)
MEDIA PRESENTER/DEVELOPER – The Media Presenter provides a vital role in leading worship through running the technology used to operate the display screens, stage lighting and live streaming during worship services. The software used to display on the screens is called ProPresenter 7 and remote controlled cameras are used for live streaming. If you have an interest in computer technology or already have skills in this area that you would like to offer, please contact the Tech Team. Full training will be provided prior to commencing this role. The Media Developer prepares the slides, graphics and videos for the worship service plan using libraries of song lyrics, graphics and videos. If you have an interest in computer graphics or in creating worship presentations or learning how to, please contact the Tech Team.
SOUND MIXER – The Sound Mixer helps lead worship by running the sound desk during Worship Services. If you have an interest in sound mixing or already have skills in this area that you would like to offer, please contact the Tech Team. Full training will be provided prior to commencing this role. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 ½ – 2 hours)
CO-ORDINATOR – WORSHIP SERVICE – This role works with the Minister as well as the Worship Teams and volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the Worship Service. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 hour before + during the service as required)
OFFERING PERSON – This role is for a member of the team responsible for collecting, counting and banking the offering. (Approx. Time Commitment – 20 mins + banking)
MORNING TEA – This role prepares, serves & cleans up Morning Tea for the 8am & 10am service. COVID-SAFE Food Preparation & Service Training will be provided. (Approx. Time Commitment – 1 – 1 ½ hours)
COVID CLEANER – This role requires cleaning between the 8am and 10am church services in particular, and involves cleaning the Foyer, Auditorium & Toilets. All touched services must be wiped down with cleaning spray. All cleaning supplies (including gloves and masks) are provided. A cleaner is also required for the 5pm evening service to clean all touched surfaces. (Approx. Time Commitment – 20mins)
